About Calabrese Baseball Training

My name is Rob Calabrese, and baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I picked up a bat at five years old, and I haven’t put it down since. Now closing in on 30, I can proudly say that baseball isn’t just something I played—it’s who I am.

Calabrese Baseball Training is the product of a lifetime commitment to the game, built on the foundation of a family deeply rooted in baseball. My father, Joseph Calabrese Sr., has been my coach for as long as I’ve played. His tough love, relentless drive, and unwavering belief in my brother Joe and I pushed us to become not just better athletes, but stronger men. My uncle, Frank Menechino, spent 15 years playing in the Major Leagues and another eight years coaching at the professional level and has offered me guidance throughout my own journey to the Major Leagues. And in 2018, my cousin John Calabrese made his mark at the Little League World Series (just like my brother did back in 2006) and is currenlty excelling as a Freshman Outfielder at Bucknell University .

From spring training locker rooms with Uncle Frank, to the fields of Poly Prep Country Day School, and then to the University of Illinois Chicago, I’ve been surrounded by mentors outside of my family like Matt Roventini, Matt Durando, and Anthony Ferrante who helped shape me into the as a player and as a person. In 2017, I was honored to be selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 10th round of the MLB Draft, fulfilling a dream years in the making.

At this point, the words Baseball and Calabrese go hand in hand. And now, through Calabrese Baseball Training, my mission is to share everything I’ve learned—to pass on the knowledge, discipline, and passion that helped me succeed.

But this isn’t just about me. It’s about my family. It’s about welcoming young players into that family and giving them the tools to grow—on the field and off. I coach because I remember what it felt like to dream big, to love the game, and to want nothing more than to be great. I know the sacrifices it takes to get there, and I’m here to help guide the next generation of ballplayers—just like my dad, my uncle, and my coaches did for me.

At Calabrese Baseball Training, you're not just getting instruction—you're becoming part of a tradition. I look forward to helping young athletes unlock their potential, chase their dreams, and fall in love with the game the same way my family and I have.
